SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The latest weekly production update released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) indicates that U.S. domestic raw steel output posted a notable year-over-year increase during the week ending November 15, 2025. According to the report, nationwide production rose approximately 8.3% compared to the corresponding week in 2024.

During the reporting week, U.S. steel mills generated 1.745 million net tons (NT) of raw steel while operating at a 76.2% capacity utilization rate. In comparison, the same week last year saw production at 1.612 million NT, supported by a lower utilization rate of 72.6%—reflecting strengthened operational momentum across domestic mills.
However, on a week-over-week basis, production recorded a slight decline. Output for the week ending November 8, 2025, stood slightly higher at 1.758 million NT with a 76.7% utilization rate, representing a marginal dip of 0.7% in the most recent reporting period.

The Southern region continued to dominate national steel production levels, posting 784,000 NT in weekly output. This was followed by:
