SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Tenaris has announced an investment of $90 million to modernize its steelmaking and seamless pipe manufacturing facilities in Pennsylvania. The move is aimed at boosting production capacity and meeting rising demand from the U.S. oil and gas sector.

The investment will support major upgrades at the company's Koppel steel shop and Ambridge seamless pipe mill. Planned improvements include advanced automation, new equipment, and process enhancements designed to increase productivity, improve operational reliability, and strengthen workplace safety.

At the Koppel plant, the company will upgrade its electric arc furnace, introduce larger-capacity ladles, and build a new steel bar storage yard. Meanwhile, the Ambridge facility will receive a dedicated bar-cutting area to improve material flow between the two manufacturing sites and enhance production efficiency. Tenaris also plans to modernize the scrap shredder at its nearby recycling operation.
Construction is expected to begin in the coming months, with most of the modernization projects expected to complete during the second half of 2027.
