SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Tenaris has announced the restart of its heat treatment and finishing lines at its production facility in Koppel, Pennsylvania, reinforcing its capacity to supply domestically produced steel pipes to the US energy sector. The move follows a $2.1 million investment aimed at restoring operations and strengthening the company’s industrial footprint in the United States. As part of the restart, Tenaris plans to hire more than 80 new employees to support the upgraded lines.

According to Tenaris US President Guillermo Moreno, the reopening of the Koppel lines highlights the reliability and strategic importance of the company’s domestic manufacturing capabilities. The facility plays a central role in Tenaris’ US operations, enabling the delivery of high-quality steel pipe solutions for energy and industrial customers nationwide.

Tenaris operates an integrated steel pipe production network across Pennsylvania and Ohio. Steel billets are melted at Koppel, rolled into seamless OCTG pipes in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, and then returned to Koppel for heat treatment, finishing, testing, and inspection. Final cutting and inspection are completed at the Brookfield, Ohio, plant.

The restart aligns with Tenaris’ broader US investment program, which exceeds $150 million, including environmental upgrades and scrap processing assets.
