Attala Steel Industries has opened a new galvanizing facility at its steel mill in Koscuisko, Mississippi

KOSCIUSKO (Scrap Monster): Attala Steel Industries has opened a new galvanizing facility at its steel mill in Koscuisko, Mississippi. Governer Phil Bryant and officials from the company attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The new facility adds 30,000 square-feet to the company’s existing facility. Attala is reported to have invested $5 million towards the additional unit, which is expected to create additional 20 jobs, 9 of which are already filled. The total employee strength at the plant will increase to 45 upon filling of remaining positions.

The Mississippi facility currently manufactures and fabricates steel I beams. With the addition of the galvanizing facility, Attala emerges as the only steelmaker in the US with all the three processing facilities in a single location.

Established in 2006, Attala Steel Company has been a major provider of steel I-beams largely used in utility scale solar-installations throughout the US and abroad.
