Hammond Police investigate copper wire theft at Entergy facility

Entergy provided several photos of a suspect, who appears to be wearing a gray or khaki t-shirt and pants, black gloves, and a head and face covering.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):   The Hammond Police Department is investigating several burglaries at the Entergy storage facility at 411 Pride Drive.

Police say suspects cut through a chain link fence to gain entry into the secured facility during overnight hours. They are accused of stealing large amounts of spooled copper wire valued at approximately $90,000.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Hammond Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 985-277-5740 or through Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa’s anonymous tip line at 1-800-554-5245. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.
