Algoma Steel 2025 Results Hit by Lower Revenue and Shipments

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Algoma Steel Group Inc. reported weaker financial results for both the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2025, reflecting softer shipments and declining revenues.

For the fourth quarter of 2025, the company posted consolidated revenue of $455 million, down from $590.3 million in the same period of 2024. The company recorded a loss from operations of $449.7 million, significantly wider than the $124.8 million operating loss reported a year earlier. Net loss for the quarter totaled $364.7 million, compared with $66.5 million in the prior-year quarter.

Adjusted EBITDA showed a loss of $95.2 million, resulting in a margin of -20.9%, compared with a loss of $60.3 million and a margin of -10.2% a year earlier.

Steel shipments during the quarter declined to 378,533 tons, compared with 548,802 tons in the prior-year period.

For the full year 2025, Algoma Steel reported consolidated revenue of $2.09 billion, down from $2.46 billion in the previous year. The company posted an operating loss of $1.33 billion and a net loss of $984.9 million. Total steel shipments also declined year-over-year to 1.74 million tons, compared with 2.02 million tons previously.

Rajat Marwah, the Company’s Chief Executive Officer stated that the fourth quarter represented a key milestone in Algoma Steel Group Inc.’s ongoing transformation.
