Steel Manufacturer Announces Expansion, Creating More Jobs

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):  A local steel fabrication manufacturer, Interlock Steel Structures, announced on Monday, July 29, 2024, that they are expanding their current operation in St. Joseph to increase productivity and create more jobs. 

According to a media release from Interlock Steel Structures, "the company plans to expand its more than 43,000-square-foot facility to increase productivity while enhancing quality and innovation."

Missouri Governor Mike Parson shared his thoughts regarding the expansion. 

"Interlock Steel Structures' expansion is great news for the St. Joseph area and our state," said Governor Parson. "Missouri continues to receive national attention for our low cost of doing business and exceptional job growth. Companies like Interlock Steel Structures are making this possible through significant investments that are improving lives and strengthening communities."

 Interlock Steel Structures notes that their expansion allows for increased production of steel sheeting, as well as the existing products for Team Perka, including fencing, railing, gates, and more. 

"We are thrilled to announce the second recent expansion of our three-generation family business with the addition of a Steel Sheeting Roll Forming Line," said the Thevenot Family Ownership Team. "This new capability complements our existing range of steel fabricated products, including structural steel frames, beams, girders, fences, railings, and more. Our commitment to quality and innovation continues to drive us forward, and we look forward to serving our customers with an even broader array of products."

Another highlight from the expansion includes added jobs which will pay "well above the county average," according to Interlock Steel Structures.

 According to the media release, Interlock Steel Structures' expansion will benefit from the Missouri Works Program, a tool which helps companies expand and retain employees by utilizing capital through withholdings or tax credits from job creation.
