SRS Eyes Major Expansion of Electronics Recycling Services

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Tampa, Florida- headquartered Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS) announced plans for expanding their electronics recycling services. It aims to position itself as a leading recycler of cloud storage devices and supplier of recycled plastic.

According to Ingrid Sinclair, Global President, SRS, the advancement of the cloud has reduced materials from a desktop environment, while increasing the supply from cloud infrastructure. The trend is likely to extend beyond 2019.

The company noted that it has invested in excess of $1 million in advanced plastics separation technology, in order to create stream of plastics that is highly recyclable. This in turn will help SRS to meet higher demand from manufacturers of recycled plastic. The company’s Nashville, Tennessee, and Eindhoven, Netherlands facilities employ advanced plastics separation technology. Incidentally, SRS aims to become the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) supplier of choice by companies for recycled plastics.

SRS has partnered with leading OEMs including HP to boost generation of clean plastic streams that are highly recyclable. It recycles approximately 20,000 metric tons of plastics presently and that volumes are expected to rise further.

Commenting on the future expansion plans of the company, Sinclair stated that it aims to significantly expand its geographic footprints. It also plans significant capital investment in new technologies, which in turn may boost its capabilities. Also, it will do the needful to expand its customer base.
