Smurfit Westrock Leaders Won Fastmarkets’ Prestigious Accolades

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):  Fastmarkets has recognized Smurfit Westrock leaders with prestigious accolades, in recognition of their superior leadership qualities.

Fastmarkets awarded Forest Products International CEO of the Year 2025 to Tony Smurfit, President and CEO of Smurfit Westrock, according to a company news release. He is the first one to win the esteemed honor twice. Tony's visionary leadership and transformative impact on the global packaging industry are the reasons behind the award.

Tony said he is honored to accept the award on behalf of the entire Smurfit Westrock organization after being chosen for it. He noted that the organization has a strong team of workers who are committed to helping it achieve its goals and a clear idea of where it wants to be and how it plans to get there.

Additionally, Smurfit Westrock's CEO of Europe, MEA, and APAC, Saverio Mayer, was honored by Fastmarkets with the "Forest Products European CEO of the Year" award. Saverio's practical approach and thorough comprehension of business strategy were particularly highlighted by the panel.

Saverio replied that receiving the accolade from Fastmarkets is a huge honor.

The prizes will be given out during the Fastmarkets Forest Products Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, which is scheduled for next month.
