Sims Announces Participation in Circular Electronics Partnership

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Sims Lifecycle Services (SLS) –the leading ITAD and electronics recycling service provider, declared its participation in the Circular Electronics Partnership, led by the World Economic Forum and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBSCD). The alliance of international organizations representing the entire electronics supply chain will work towards creating a road map for circular electronics.

By joining the partnership, SLS will provide pertinent contributions at meetings and collaborate with other members in discovering benefits. In addition, the company will assist in creation and review of pathway reports, which in turn will contribute to development of road map for circular electronics.

The Partnership will ensure active involvement of all stakeholders including manufacturers, retailers, academia, government organizations and representatives from the entire electronics industry, said Sean Magann, global VP of sales and marketing, SLS. By ensuring environmentally responsible disposition of growing electronic waste, the alliance targets to create a world without waste, he added.

Studies suggest that only less than one-fifth of the nearly 50 million tonnes of discarded e-waste is responsibly recycled.
