SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):Based on price data compiled from the Scrap Monster Price Index, one could see that steel scrap prices exhibited mixed trend during the past one week period from 22nd to 28th September, 2023.
The Shredded Auto Scrap, #1 Bundle and #1 Busheling prices surged higher on Index. The prices of HMS 80/20 and Sheet Metal recorded no change over the previous week.
On the contrary, $1 HMS and Structural Steel prices recorded decline over the week.

The price of a few steel scrap commodities registered increase during the previous week. This included Shredded Auto Scrap, #1 Bundle and #1 Busheling.

The prices of HMS 80/20 and Sheet Metal were flat.
Meantime #1 HMS and Structural Steel prices dipped by 1.54% each upon comparison with the prior week.
The region reported no changes in prices of HMS 80/20 and Structural Steel week-on-week.
The prices of Shredded Auto Scrap, #1 Bundle and #1 Busheling edged higher over the prior week. The Shredded Auto Scrap prices recorded biggest increase, rising by 2.56% week-on-week.
Meantime, #1 HMS and Structural Steel prices declined on a weekly basis.

The West Coast region HMS 80/20 and Sheet Metal prices recorded no change, compared to the previous week.
The prices of Shredded Auto Scrap, #1 Bundle and #1 Busheling increased over the prior-week levels.
Compared to last week, #1 HMS and Structural Steel prices witnessed marginal decline.
The Chinese steel scrap market has been flat during the week. The prices of Cast Iron Scrap witnessed no change from the prior week. #1 HMS prices held steady, as shown in the below chart.
The prices of all steel scrap commodities such as #1 HMS, Cast Iron Scrap, Grade 1 Old Steel, Grade 2 Old Steel, Grade OA Structural Plate, Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel held steady when compared with the week before.

The LME Steel Scrap CFR Turkey (Platts) Month 2 Closing price as on 28th September, 2023 stood at $375.50 per tonne.
The LME Steel Rebar FOB Turkey (Platts) Month 2 Contract closed at $575.50 per tonne.
Meantime, LME Steel HRC North America (Platts) LME Steel Scrap CFR India (Platts) Month 2 prices as on 28th September, 2023 closed at $690.00 per tonne and $442.50 per tonne respectively.
