Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Decline; Copper, Aluminum, and Stainless Steel Down on the Index – October 28, 2025

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): As of Tuesday, October 28, 2025, Chinese Copper scrap prices recorded modest decline on the ScrapMonster Price Index. Stainless Steel, Brass/Bronze and Aluminum scrap prices also dropped when compared with the previous day. In the meantime, Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.
Copper Scrap Prices
#1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 1,400 per MT over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also declined by CNY 1,400 per MT each.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were down by CNY 700 per MT upon comparison with the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery dropped by CNY 250 per MT over the previous day.
Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices were down by CNY 50 per MT each over the previous day’s prices.
Cu/Al Radiators prices dipped by CNY 250 per MT on the Index.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were down by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day’s prices.
Heater Cores prices dropped by CNY 600 per MT as of Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices recorded a decline of CNY 50 per MT each on a daily basis.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions prices were down by CNY 200 per MT over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots also recorded decline by CNY 200 per MT on a daily basis.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers witnessed decline by CNY 100 per MT each on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices dropped by CNY 200 per MT on the Index.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices also were down by CNY 200 per MT each as of October 28, 2025.
The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF dipped by CNY 100 per MT each from the previous day’s price.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady as of October 28, 2025.
Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices were flat on the Index.
304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices were unchanged on the Index.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices witnessed a decline of CNY 50 per MT each when compared with the prior day.
310 SS scrap prices also were down by CNY 100 per MT as of October 28, 2025.
Shred SS prices held steady over the previous day’s price.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded slight decline on the Index.
Brass Radiator scrap prices reported decline by CNY 100 per MT as of October 28, 2025.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices edged lower by CNY 200 per MT each on the Index.
