SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Portland, Oregon-based Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc. has been named one of the 2023 World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere. The company is one among the 135 winners this year, spanning across 19 countries and 46 industries, who have been recognized for their excellence in advancing the standards of ethical business practices. This is the ninth consecutive time that metals recycling leader has been honoured with the prestigious title.

Commenting on the achievement, Tamara Lundgren, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Schnitzer Steel noted that the company is honored to be recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for the ninth consecutive year. Being included in the prestigious list is one of the highest and most valuable honors it can receive. The award places the company in a very small circle of highly distinguished and admirable companies. Lundgren acknowledged the committed efforts of all of its employees, which helped it in achieving the honor.

Meantime, Erica Salmon Byrne, CEO, Ethisphere congratulated the company for earning a place in the World’s Most Ethical Companies community. Furthermore, Byrne appreciated the honorees for their dedication to display exemplary value-based leadership.
