SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The U.S. Department of Commerce has launched a new administrative review of antidumping and countervailing duty measures on key wood product imports, including Canadian softwood lumber and several Chinese wood products. The review, announced on March 9, 2026, will examine trade activities during calendar year 2025, with final results expected by January 31, 2027.
Canadian softwood lumber exports to the United States are subject to both antidumping order A-122-857 and countervailing duty order C-122-858. Exporters from Canada currently face a combined tariff burden of 35.19%, reflecting a sharp rise from 14.40% during the fifth administrative review.

Commerce officials noted that the agency may limit the number of companies examined by selecting respondents based on U.S. import data or quantity-and-value questionnaires. For wooden bedroom furniture exporters, quantity-and-value responses must be submitted within 21 days, while separate-rate certifications are due within 14 days.
U.S. Lumber Coalition chairman Andrew Miller said the duties aim to counter trade practices that allegedly distort the U.S. lumber market and threaten domestic production and employment.
