Robbins Lumber Expanded Footprint Through Acquisition of Hancock and Sanford Sawmills

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Robbins Lumber, Inc. announced acquisition of two sawmills in Hancock and Sanford, previously owned by Pleasant River Lumber Co. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The move will expand the company’s footprint from two locations to four locations. Also, the acquisition will help Robbins Lumber to build upon the production of its Eastern White Pine brand. All the 74 employees between the two locations will be retained. The company’s existing locations are in Searsmont and East Baldwin.

Catherine Robbins-Halsted, co-owner, Robbins Lumber stated that the addition of two sawmills will expand the team, boost the company’s production capability and enhance the company’s reputation throughout the region. The acquisitions will lift the total employee strength across the four locations to 250.

Jim Robbins termed the acquisition as a ‘game-changer’, saying that its geographic footprint now covers larger area, Furthermore, he reiterated the company’s commitment to continue investing and growing the acquired businesses.

Robbins Lumber has renamed the two acquired sawmills. The Hancock location will now be known as Robbins Lumber Downeast, LLC, whereas the Sanford location will be known as Robbins Lumber Sanford, LLC.
