Pulp and Paper Industry Leader Announced Robust Results in 2021

China continued to remain as the priority market for the company.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Russian-headquartered Ilim Group continued to remain as the leader in Russian pulp and paper industry in 2021.

The company press release said that the company produced a total of 3.64 million tons of finished products during the previous year. The pulp production totalled 2.16 million tonnes, thus accounting for the major share of the company’s production volumes. Meanwhile, the company continued to boost the share of packaging materials in its portfolio, with the segment accounting for 815,000 tonnes. The operating EBITDA totalled $1.1 billion during the year.

China continued to remain as the priority market for the company. It celebrated 25 years of operation in China during 2021. Ilim Group announced plans to further expand its presence in all regions of the country. The exports to China totalled 1.4 million tons. Along with bleached softwood pulp, it also increased the kraftliner export volumes to the Chinese market. It plans to increase the aggregate volume of its exports to China to around 2.4 million tons by 2025, the press release said.

The company allocated $11.3 million in support of social and infrastructure projects in the previous year. It said that social investments will continue to remain as a top priority for the company in future as well.
