SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Roseburg Forest Products announced grand opening of its newly constructed engineered wood plant at Chester, S.C. The ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the facility was held on Oct 28, 2019. The ceremony was attended by Gov. Henry McMaster, along with top company officials.
The most technologically advanced manufacturing facility of its kind hosts the highest-capacity press in the world, company press release said. The plant will produce high quality laminated veneer lumber headers and beams. Upon full operation, the plant is likely to provide employment to nearly 145 local people. The company has already hired around 100 employees.

Grady Mulbery, President and CEO, Roseburg Forest Products stated that Chester was cjhosen as the location for the new plant, on the basis of several favourable factors including steady market demand, healthy market conditions and abundant wood supply. Further, he thanked the efforts of all people who made the project happen.
