The company press release issued yesterday noted that the latest acquisition is in line with Nucor’s raw materials strategy. Furthermore, it demonstrates the company’s commitment to expand the recycling platforms across the region in support of its steelmaking operations. The acquisition will broaden RMR’s footprint in the recycling industry. All of the 43 employees of Garden Street will now be part of RMR, it said.
Bob Eviston, Vice President and General Manager of RMR stated that the company is excited to welcome the Garden Street teammates to the RMR family. The key strategic acquisition will allow the company to increase its supply of sustainable raw materials for its growing steelmaking capacity in the region, he added.
Earlier in December 2021, Nucor’s recycling subsidiary Trademark Metals had purchased Garden Street's recycling facilities in Fort Myers, Florida.
RMR is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cincinnati-based, The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ), a Nucor subsidiary.
