Over the past 10 years, Resolute has donated over $400,000 to Northwestern Ontario community programs and organizations through the Board of Directors Safety Award Program.

Resolute’s Ignace Sawmill Reached Key Safety Milestone

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Resolute Forest Products’ Ignace sawmill employees earned a total of $15,000 for achieving key safety milestones. The amount was donated in the form of three cheques of $5,000 each to Blessing in a Back Pack, Northern Critters in Need and the Mary Berglund Community Health Centre.

The mill employees had earned prize money of $10,000 for achieving 500,000 consecutive hours of work without a recordable injury and an additional $5,000 for reaching a 75% double vaccination rate against Covid-19 pandemic.

Remi G. Lalonde, President and Chief Executive Officer, Resolute commended the special and meaningful act of its employees by choosing the benefactors themselves from within operating communities, especially at the time of difficulties on account of the pandemic. Meantime, Ignace Mayor Lucas congratulated the company along with each and every employee for assigning top priority to the safety and wellbeing of staff and communities in which it operates.

Over the past 10 years, Resolute has donated over $400,000 to Northwestern Ontario community programs and organizations through the Board of Directors Safety Award Program. In total, the donations have surpassed the milestone of $2.5 million. The company reiterated its commitment to support the needs and interests of communities in future as well.
