The investment is part of the company’s strategic expansion into the U.S., aimed at meeting the increased demand for recycled propylene, which is increasingly used in a variety of end-use applications, including consumer goods packaging. The facility will employ PureCycle’s proprietary process to remove color, odor, and other contaminants from recycled feedstock to produce 100% virgin-like polypropylene.

Commenting on the investment, Mike Otworth, PureCycle chairman and CEO noted that the company is pleased to make this strategic investment at Ironton facilities. It is extremely grateful to the community for embracing the company. The operations will leverage southern Ohio’s skilled chemical industry workforce, in addition to taking advantage of its excellent access to regional markets, he added.
