SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) announced launch of ‘Recycling is Real’- a new advocacy campaign aimed at promoting and defending plastic recycling in the U.S.
The campaign will help elected officials and policymakers to make them understand that recycling is a vital link of the sustainability and circularity chain, by providing them necessary content. This will empower them to take more well-informed decisions about recycling projects to be promoted in their constituencies.

Simultaneously, the campaign also aims to put an end to the concerted and coordinated campaign against plastic recycling by anti-recycling organizations and their allies. The anti-plastics propaganda has played a key role in the nation losing its ability to recycle.
Matt Seaholm, President and CEO, PLASTICS noted that plastics recycling is very real and is not a myth. It happens every single day across America. The campaign will make public as well as lawmakers well informed about the vital role played by recycling in a circular economy. Recycling is an effective, feasible and economical way to achieve shared sustainability goals, Seaholm added.
The initial launch of the campaign will feature recycling efforts undertaken at Ultra-Poly, Placon, Novolex and MAAG. More videos will be launched in the coming weeks.
