Kraft Heinz announced a pledge to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its operational footprint and entire global supply chain by 2050.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Chicago-headquartered Kraft Heinz Co. announced plans to reduce the use of virgin plastics in its products. A virgin plastic packaging reduction goal will be set up later this year or latest by the initial quarter of 2023.
As part of the plan, the company plans to launch various initiatives and investments, including substantial reduction of virgin plastic material, packaging redesign and boosted use of recycled content, in addition to promotion of reuse models.

Kraft Heinz announced a pledge to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its operational footprint and entire global supply chain by 2050. In the near term, it targets to achieve 50% reduction by 2030 across all three scopes. The transition to a more circular and recyclable consumer packaging is one of the key focus areas in its journey towards net-zero goal.
Miguel Patricio, CEO, Kraft Heinz noted that the company has taken seriously its responsibility to reduce its environmental impact, especially in the face of climate change. The company looks forward to seize opportunities to reduce emissions and its carbon footprints, by entering into partnerships with leading non-governmental organizations across its supply chain, Patricio added.
