Saica Group Broke Ground on New Corrugated Packaging Plant in Anderson, Indiana

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Spain-based Saica Group has officially broken ground on its second U.S. corrugated packaging plant, located in Anderson, Indiana, marking a major milestone in its North American expansion strategy. The new state-of-the-art facility, representing an investment of over $110 million, is expected to commence operations by Q4 2026.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Tuesday to celebrate the launch of the project. The event drew notable attendees, including former State Senator Tim Lanane, representing the Mayor of Anderson; David J. Adams, Indiana Secretary of Commerce; and Rob Sparks, Executive Director of the Madison County Economic Development Corporation.

The 350,000-square-foot facility will produce over 1.2 million MSF of corrugated packaging annually, strengthening Saica’s footprint in the U.S. packaging sector. The site will also function as a backup plant for Saica Pack in Hamilton, Ohio, enhancing supply chain resilience across the Midwest.
According to Saica, the project is part of its ambitious $800 million U.S. investment plan over the next several years. Within its first two years of operation, the Indiana plant is expected to create more than 50 full-time positions, eventually expanding to over 100 jobs at full capacity. Recruitment for key management and technical roles is scheduled to begin later this year.
The expansion reflects Saica’s commitment to sustainable packaging solutions and regional economic growth, as it continues to strengthen its manufacturing network and meet growing demand for eco-friendly corrugated products in North America.
