Georgia-Pacific Announced Huge Capital Investment in Englehart OSB Mill

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): At its Englehart Oriented Strand Board (OSB) plant in Ontario, Georgia-Pacific announced a significant capital expenditure. Modern facility upgrades will be supported by the about $140 million capital investment, which will lower expenses and downtime.

Doug Metson, Mayor of Englehart; Pauline Rochefort, Member of Parliament Nipissing-Timiskaming; Victor Fedeli, MPP Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation, and Trade; and prominent business executives were among those present at the facility's groundbreaking event.

The project's engineering and design work has already started. By Q2 2027, the full project should be finished.

The investment coincides with the 15th anniversary of the Englehart OSB's Georgia-Pacific status. It will provide funding for a new log processing system that will prepare raw wood components for OSB production. The project also include building a new completed goods warehouse and expanding the existing one.

The investment will improve Georgia-Pacific's operational capabilities and guarantee increased output from the Englehart mill in the years to come, according to David Neal, executive vice president, building goods. He stated that the facility will continue to function while the upgrades are carried out.
