Leon Topalian, President and Chief Executive Officer, Nucor Corporation thanked GM, on behalf of the company’s almost 30,000 teammates for recognizing the company with the award.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Nucor Corporation has been recognized as a General Motors (GM) Supplier of the Year for the fourth consecutive year. The company remains the only electric arc furnace steelmaker in the list of award winners. It must be noted that this is the 30th year that GM is honouring its suppliers with the prestigious award. Also, Nucor’s partnership with GM on Econiq won the GM Overdrive Award.
Leon Topalian, President and Chief Executive Officer, Nucor Corporation thanked GM, on behalf of the company’s almost 30,000 teammates for recognizing the company with the award. Nucor is proud of the team's success in meeting GM's product needs amid tight steel supplies last year, he added.
The award winners were chosen by a global team of GM executives, represented by various departments, including purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing and logistics. The selection was based on performance criteria in Product Purchasing, Global Purchasing and Manufacturing Services, Customer Care and Aftersales, and Logistics.
Shilpan Amin, GM vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain said that these top supplier awards demonstrates resilience and reinforces its commitment to pursuing sustainability and innovation. Through strong relationships and collaboration with suppliers, GM hopes to build a brighter future for generations to come, Amin added.
