Novelis Invests $36 Million to Boost Greensboro Aluminum Recycling Capacity

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Atlanta-headquartered Novelis Inc.- the global leader in aluminium rolling and recycling announced its decision to invest $36 million to expand and upgrade recycling capabilities at its Greensboro, Ga plant. The groundbreaking ceremony was held the premises. The project is expected to get completed in fall of 2021.

The proposed investment will enhance the company’s capabilities in automotive closed-loop recycling. Novelis plans to install a state-of-the-art equipment for aluminium scrap recycling and a new baghouse for improved mitigation of dust. Further, the investment will also work on designs to ensure a safer and more efficient traffic flow, thereby enhancing the facility’s safety systems in a big way. Meantime, the facility will continue to recycle used beverage cans as usual.

Marco Palmieri, SVP and President, Novelis North America noted that the investment demonstrates the company’s commitment to meet sustainability targets. Beatriz Landa, Plant Manager, Novelis Greensboro stated that the investment will allow the company to continue its modernization of the facility and its capabilities so as to serve its broad customer base for many more years to come.

Meantime, Governor Brian P. Kemp congratulated Novelis on its exciting expansion in Greensboro. He reminded the countless opportunities created by the facility over the years and hoped that the company achieves continued success in the years to come.
