SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) announced that it has initiated steps to formulate e-waste regulations in the country, in a bid to protect environment.
The formulation of e-waste regulations in the country is essential, mainly on account of the poor awareness among people on the hazardous properties of electronic waste and the potential damages it could cause to human health and environment. Additionally, sustainable e-waste processing leads of productive use of discarded items apart from offering opportunities for potential wealth creation, NCC noted.
