The total recycled volume equates to nearly 10,000 computer monitors, NamiGreen noted.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):  The statistics published by NamiGreen- the e-waste recycling company in charge of electronics recycling in the African country of Namibia states that e-waste recycling rates in the country doubled in 2019.

During the previous year, the recycling joint venture recycled 102,000 kilograms of electronic waste. The recycling rates have more than doubled when matched with 50,000 kilograms recycled in 2018. The total recycled volume equates to nearly 10,000 computer monitors, NamiGreen noted.

Mr. Per Hansen, CEO, NamiGreen noted that increased awareness about e-waste disposal, efforts by governmental agencies and organizations like Recycle Namibia Forum has contributed to higher e-waste recycling rates in 2019. The company foresees further strong growth in 2020, by partnering with more cities, companies and individuals. This could help the company beat its previous e-waste recycling rates, Hansen added.

NamiGreen- collaboration between Pehansen and Transworld Cargo, collects used and broken electronics through a network of e-waste bins. Further, it offers free e-waste collection service for companies and organizations. The electronic waste thus collected is recycled in a professional manner, adhering to strict standards of safety.
