This is Mondi’s third plant in Morocco in addition to the two existing plants and also the fourth in West African region. It has a plant in Ivory Coast. The new plant will help Mondi to meet the rising customer demand for paper bags in the region. The Tangier plant is located within a free trade zone, thus ensuring easier supply to neighbouring countries in the region. It makes use of sack kraft paper produced by Mondi.

Hicham Jalal, Regional Manager- West Africa Paper Bags at Mondi noted that the West African building industry has seen tremendous growth during recent times. Mondi is uniquely positioned to deliver paper-based packaging materials, including high-quality paper bags, directly to customers in the region.

The construction works of the plant had commenced in January this year. Mondi thanked the excellent work carried out by the highly motivated team to start production at the new plant on time.
