Newmont stated that the rockfalls that occurred early Tuesday morning had blocked the exit of these workers.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Three workers who were trapped at Newmont’s Red Chris Mine in British Columbia, Canada have been safely rescued after more than 60 hours of tireless efforts.
Who are the three workers?
Kevin Coumbs, Darien Maduke and Jesse Chubaty, three workers belonging to contractor Hy-Tech Drilling at the mine project, were safely brought to surface at around 10:40pm PST, said a company news release. All the three individuals are safe, and in good health and spirits and their families have been notified, it added.
The tragic incident
According to Newmont, these personnel were unable to leave because of the rockfalls that happened early on Tuesday morning. The workers stayed put in an underground refuge room where they had constant access to food, water, and ventilation, but there was no communication with them.
Successful Rescue Effort
It was a well-executed rescue strategy, the business said. Following the effective removal of the falling debris from the access tunnel by its drones and specialist line-of-sight scoop, the Emergency Response Team used equipment to move over the affected area. The staff members were in stable condition when the team arrived at the refuge chamber.
What the company has to say?
According to Newmont, "tireless collaboration, technical expertise, and above all, safety and care" were responsible for the successful outcome.
During the rescue effort, Newmont had suspended all activities at the Red Chris gold-copper mine.
