Kinross Gold Updated on Progress of Red Lake Great Bear Project

The feasibility study work at Manh Choh project in Alaska is nearing completion, with results expected to be disclosed ahead of schedule as part of the company’s Q2 2022 results.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Kinross Gold Corporation provided update on several projects including Red Lake, Ontario-based Great Bear project, Manh Choh project in Alaska and Curlew exploration project in Washington State.

According to the company press release, it is on track to declare an initial mineral resource as part of its 2022 year-end results. It expects to complete approximately 200,000 metres of exploration and infill drilling in 2022 on the LP Fault zone. Kinross Gold has increased the number of diamond drills at Great Bear from eight to eleven since its last update in May this year. Also, the 35,000-metre grade control drilling program is nearing completion, it said.

The feasibility study work at Manh Choh project in Alaska is nearing completion, with results expected to be disclosed ahead of schedule as part of the company’s Q2 2022 results. The initial production is set to commence in Q4 2024, subject to permitting. Meantime, permitting activities are progressing well. It must be noted that the company had submitted applications for major permits in December last year.

The underground drilling program at the Curlew Basin exploration project in Washington State continues to produce positive results. The company targets to declare a total mineral inventory of 1 million Au oz. by year-end 2022 at Curlew.
