Turkey's ferroalloy imports declined 8.6% month-on-month to 33,764 metric tons (mt) in July this year and advanced 0.7 year-on-year as per the latest data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
ANKARA (Scrap Monster): Turkey's ferroalloy imports declined 8.6% month-on-month to 33,764 metric tons (mt) in July this year and advanced 0.7 year-on-year as per the latest data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The value of these imports amounted to $49.8 million, decreased by 7.3% as compared to June and down 6.9% year-on-year.
In the first seven months of 2012, Turkey's ferroalloy imports totaled 243,029 mt, decreased 2.5% compared to January-July 2011.
Imports from Ukraine in July this year amounted to 12,927 mt, more than double compared to the same month of 2011, while imports from Russia in July amounted to 9,065 mt, almost quadruple, compared to the same month of 2011.
Meanwhile, China exported 1,461 mt of ferroalloys to Turkey in July, down 60.7% year-on-year.
