SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Leading ferrous and nonferrous metal recycling company Scrap Management Industries (SMI) announced acquisition of two Kansas-based scrap recycling centres- 12th & Haskell Recycle Center in Lawrence and East Wilson Recycle in Ottawa. With these acquisitions, SMI now operates nine facilities. The acquired facilities will help the company better serve residential and industrial customers across the region.
The acquired recycling facilities will operate under the names Scrap Management Industries – Lawrence and Scrap Management Industries – Ottawa. Both the facilities will continue to offer comprehensive metal recycling services for both ferrous and nonferrous materials. Under SMI’s ownership, both the facilities are expected to witness significant expansion of capabilities.
Jerrit Burgess, President and CEO of SMI stated that the acquisition aligns with its long-term growth strategy and reinforces its commitment to providing sustainable, efficient and responsible recycling solutions. The addition of the Lawrence and Ottawa locations will expand the company’s presence and impact in the region. Additionally, it will position the comp any to provide better services to industrial partners, small businesses and individual recyclers, he noted.
