River Metals Recycling Announces Major Expansion to its Metal Recycling Footprint

River Metals Recycling noted that the addition of the assets is consistent with its growth strategy.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Newport, Kentucky-based River Metals Recycling- the wholly owned subsidiary of The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ) has announced major expansion to its regional recycling platform by way of acquisition of several metal recycling assets of Columbus Recycling.

The company will take over the metal recycling units of Columbus Recycling in Ashland, Kentucky, Charleston, West Virginia, and Coeburn, Virginia. As per the agreement, Columbus Recycling will retain ownership and continue to operate its other nine facilities located in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Kentucky, which are not part of the deal.

River Metals Recycling noted that the addition of the assets is consistent with its growth strategy. It clearly demonstrates DJJ’s commitment to expand its regional recycling platforms. The company will continue to provide high-end services to existing as well as new scrap suppliers and consumers.

The company currently operates 14 locations, including Newport and Louisville automobile shredders, offering ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal recycling services. The acquisition will add Columbus’ shredding operation in Ashland to its fold. It must be noted that DJJ operates more than 60 scrap recycling facilities across the country.
