Responding firefighters worked quickly to bring the fire under control.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Montgomery County firefighters were battling a large fire at a scrap metal pile in Rockville Tuesday morning.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Crews were called to the fire burning outside of a facility on E. Gude Drive near Dover Road around 9 a.m. for a report of a fire.
Responding firefighters worked quickly to bring the fire under control.
Pete Piringer, a spokesperson for the department, said the fire was out about 25 minutes after the initial call.
Smoke was seen billowing from the scrap metal facility Tuesday morning.
No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze.
