SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The BIR World Recycling Convention & Exhibition is set to unite the global recycling industry in Gothenburg, Sweden, marking the event’s first appearance in the Nordic city.
Organised as a platform to strengthen international trade ties, address shifting market conditions, and expand the sector’s collective impact, the 2026 convention follows record-breaking participation last year. Organisers expect more than 2,000 delegates to attend the three-day gathering.

The event will be hosted at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre – Gothia Towers, Scandinavia’s largest integrated hotel and conference complex. The venue offers extensive meeting and exhibition halls, thousands of hotel rooms, and multiple restaurants and social spaces under one roof, ensuring a streamlined experience for participants.
