Meanwhile, the company noted that ramp-up of Aurubis Richmond- the first secondary smelter for multimetal recycling in the U.S., as well as the expansion of its Bulgarian copper tankhouse is in full progress.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Aurubis expects to finish fiscal year 2025/26 near the top end of its earnings guidance. The company reported a strong third quarter and improved performance across its core businesses.
The copper and multimetal producer posted operating EBT of €374 million for the first nine months, up 31% from €286 million a year earlier. Operating EBITDA also climbed to €570 million, compared with €462 million in the corresponding period.
Third-quarter operating EBT reached €149 million, more than double the €57 million recorded a year earlier and significantly above the €121 million reported in the second quarter. The strong performance was mainly driven by higher copper and precious metal prices, stronger sulfuric acid sales and better recycling revenues, said a company news release.

Higher capacity utilization rates and robust copper product sales also contributed to the earnings growth. It must be noted that the previous year’s results had been badly impacted due to scheduled maintenance at its Bulgarian operations.
Based on strong quarterly performance, Aurubis now expects fiscal-year operating EBT between €425 million and €525 million, which is at the upper end of its previously released forecast.
