List of Topmost Gold Producers in H1 2022

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Mining Intelligence has listed the world’s top ten gold companies ranked by reported production of gold during the initial six-month period of the current year. The list does not include Russian producers which stopped reporting results since the Ukraine crisis.

30% of Mined Gold Output in 2020 Came From 3 Countries

In top spot was U.S.-based Newmont Corporation, with operations in Africa, Australia, South America and the US, produced 2,758 koz of gold in the first half of the year. In second place was Barrick Gold which recorded a production of 2,099 koz of gold in H1 2022 from its global operations. Agnico Eagle took the third place, producing 1,547 koz of gold from its operations in Canada, Australia, Finland and Mexico. The recent $10 billion merger with Kirkland Gold contributed to the output.

The others to feature in the top ten list along with their half yearly gold output (in koz) are as follows: Gold Fields (1,129), AngloGold Ashanti (1,110), Newcrest Mining (1,097), Kinross Gold (824), Northern Star Resources (791), Endeavour Mining (734) and Harmony Gold (691).

The gold price has been on the rise in 2022, mainly triggered by improved global demand on account of rising geopolitical tensions and inflation concerns.
