JSW Steel’s Dolvi Steel Plant Expansion To Be Completed Soon

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The expansion works at JSW Steel’s Dolvi Works plant is expected to be completed by March next year.

The steel plant in that state of Maharashtra in western India has a production capacity of 5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). The investment of approximately INR 15,000 crore is aimed at doubling the plant’s capacity to nearly 10 mtpa, said Jayant Acharya, Director-Commercial Marketing and Corporate Strategy, JSW Steel.

The expansion works were affected by the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. The company was forced to suspend works, on account of multiple reasons including workplace and travel restrictions. It had received government approval to restart the works only towards end-April this year. The expansion works would have completed earlier than this, except for the Covid-19-induced delay.
