Great Lakes Iron Ore Shipments Continue to Contract

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Iron ore shipments on North America’s Great Lakes decreased year-on-year in June, Kallanish learns from data by the Lake Carriers' Association.

The association indicates that June iron ore shipments came in at 4.9 million long tons, down 9.6% y-o-y.

The year-to-date iron ore trade stands at 16.6m lt, a decrease of 16.1% compared to the same period last year.

June iron ore shipments were 1.2% below the five-year average of 4.98m lt for that month.
