The mill, built in 1963, was acquired by Interfor from Primex Forest Products in 2001.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Interfor Corporation announced that it has reached an agreement with an affiliate of San Industries Ltd. towards sale of its Acorn specialty sawmill located near Vancouver, B.C. The new owner intends to continue operating the mill. The completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed during the second quarter of the current year.
The mill, built in 1963, was acquired by Interfor from Primex Forest Products in 2001. Located on nearly 30-acre leased site on the Fraser River in Delta, the mill produces lumber squares for traditional Japanese home market. Majority of the production from the mill is exported to Asian countries.

The mill has the capability to operate in two shifts. Based on this, the mill has an estimated capacity of approximately 140 million board feet per year. However, the mill has been operating on single shift for the past several years. It had produced 56 million board feet of lumber during the previous year, which accounted for just around 2% of the total company-wide production of Interfor in 2021.
Interfor Corporation will release its first quarter financial results on May 11, 2022. The analyst conference call is scheduled to be held at 8.00 AM Pacific on that day, said company press release.
