ILZSG Announced Lead Metal Outlook for 2021 and 2022

The global lead mine production declined marginally by 0.6% from January to June in 2022. The dip in mine output was primarily due to reduced output reported by Australia, Greece, Peru and Turkey, which were partially balanced by higher output in India. The lead mine output totalled 2.172 million tonnes in Jan-June ’22, compared with 2.186 million tonnes a year before.

The refined lead metal production during this period has declined by 1.3%, as a result of lower output in Belgium, China, Germany, the Republic of Korea, Ukraine and the United States. Meantime, global lead metal usage recorded marginal decline from 6.062 million tonnes to 5.982 million tonnes over the year.

The ILZSG monthly statistics suggest that monthly global lead mine output totalled 407.8 kt in June this year. The global refined lead metal production totalled 1,013.2 kt, whereas global lead metal usage totalled 1,033.6 kt during the month.
