Biswas has served leading global steelmaker Tata Steel for a period of 17 years, during which he held senior and board level positions in its joint ventures and subsidiaries.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): GFG Alliance announced appointment of Tata Steel executive Mr. Sandip Biswas as Group Chief Investment Officer (CIO). The appointment is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its global executive leadership team.
According to company press release, Sandip will play a key role in supporting the group’s debt restructuring and transformation plans. The company will utilize his strong track record in developing decarbonisation projects, to lead GFG’s efforts to become carbon neutral by 2030. He will be responsible for delivering sustained commercial and investment performance.

Biswas has served leading global steelmaker Tata Steel for a period of 17 years, during which he held senior and board level positions in its joint ventures and subsidiaries. He has served as the Group Executive Vice President, Finance. In July 2019, he became Tata Steel Europe’s Executive Director. Most recently, he was the Chairman of Tata Steel UK. Also, he has been on the boards of companies across various geographies in South East Asia, India, Africa, Europe and Canada.
