Officers believe the culprit sold the copper across a number of recycling locations in Southeast Missouri.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Police arrested four suspects this week in an ongoing investigation into roughly $13,000 worth of stolen copper.
The Scott City Police Department provided preliminary information surrounding the arrests and investigation on Sunday afternoon.
According to police, the investigation has been ongoing over "several days." The copper was reportedly stolen from the Union Pacific Railroad property in Scott City.
Officers believe the culprit sold the copper across a number of recycling locations in Southeast Missouri. In total, police say the copper was worth about $13,000 and measured about 3,000 feet.
Scott City police then revealed the following suspects and their charges:
Randall J. Hanstein
Two class D felonies of Stealing and Damage to a Critical Infrastructure Facility
Warrant set with no bond
Tommy W. Kraft
Class D felony of Stealing
Bond set at $75,000 in cash or surety
Erin M. Glueck
Class D Felony of Stealing
Bod set at $40,000 in cash or surety
Ricky K. Hunter
Two class D felonies of Stealing and Damage to Critical Infrastructure
Bond set at $75,000 in cash or surety
All four suspects have been arrested and placed in custody of the Scott City Police Department.
The suspects are all presumed innocent until proven guilty.
