E-Waste Recycling and ITAD Firm Expands North Carolina Facility

Powerhouse Recycling announced that it will provide space for the newly purchased equipment.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Powerhouse Recycling- the Salisbury, N.C.-headquartered E-scrap recycling and ITAD service provider announced major expansion to its North Carolina facility. It plans an investment of approximately $4 million in expansion works, said company press release.

The company had recently participated in the online auction held by Tiger Group for equipment at ECS Refining’s Stockton, California facility and had emerged as the winner of the bid for the sophisticated e-scrap shredding and separation system, comprising of two shredders, drum and overbelt magnets, eddy current separator and sorters. The assets, purchased for a sum of $345,000, were transported across to the facility, just before the deadline, amidst Covid-19 restrictions.

Powerhouse Recycling announced that it will provide space for the newly purchased equipment. It plans to build a 150,000-square-foot expansion to its facility, where the new equipment will be hosted. The proposed expansion is expected to more than double the company’s operations in Salisbury.

The expansion project was scheduled to break ground in April, but has now been delayed due to pandemic. The new building is expected to be opened in early-2021.
