Evergreen Completed Ohio Recycled PET Facility Expansion

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Evergreen- the leading recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) supplier announced completion of its building and production expansion at Clyde, Ohio facility. A ceremony to mark the event was held on Friday, July 22, 2022.

The company had commenced the expansion project in August last year, following heightened consumer and customer demand for recycled PET plastic. The project expanded the existing facility by adding 54,000 square foot to it. It added four extrusion lines which could be expanded in future to six with a processing capacity of 11.8 billion bottles per year, said the company press release.

Out of the $5 million investment, half came from the American Beverage Association in partnership with Closed Loop Partners and the other half from Closed Loop Partners’ Infrastructure Fund. The investment has helped Evergreen to expand its services to process recycled PET plastic into food-grade recycled rPET pellets used to manufacture new bottles. Also, the expansion has created around 20 additional management and manufacturing jobs in the Sandusky County region.

The expansion project by Evergreen will help in creating a strong local market for recycled plastics and reduce use of new plastic.
