ERI, CTA and Samsung Join Hands to Offer Free E-Waste Recycling Event

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): ERI- the nation’s leading electronic waste recycler has joined hands with the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) to offer a free e-waste collection and recycling event. The special collection event is also sponsored by Samsung Electronics America, Inc.

The collection event will take place on Saturday, January 6th, 2018 from 9AM to 1 PM at the Salvation Army Family Store drop off location on 2035 Yale Street in North Las Vegas, NV. The event will provide the residents of the City of Las Vegas with another opportunity to recycle their discarded electronic waste. The event is free to the public, ERI noted. The event is being held just ahead of CES 2018, thereby ensuring that attendees of the event too have access to the event.

John Shegerian, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of ERI noted that partnership with forward-thinking, environmentally-concerned organizations like CTA and Samsung could result in great accomplishments. The event will see pooling of resources of all partnering entities towards a common good cause. The weekend event would prevent tons of unwanted electronics from ending up in landfills, he added.

Mark Newton, Head of Environmental, Regulatory Affairs, and Sustainability at Samsung Electronics America noted that the participation of the company is part of its Samsung Re+ program, which aims to educate consumers on safe management of electronic waste. The event will highlight the significance of responsible recycling, by delivering positive impacts on our environment, Newton said.

Meantime, Walter Alcorn, vice president for environmental affairs and industry sustainability, CTA congratulated ERI and Samsung for organizing the community recycling event to help consumers recycle their older products.

The event will accept a wide range of materials including mobile devices, computers and accessories, televisions and monitors. All the unwanted electronics collected during the event will be transported to ERI’s certified facilities, where they will be responsibly and safely recycled. ERI will ensure that all data contained in those devices will be erased prior to destruction.
