The partnership will introduce joint efforts to implement scientific methods for the safe disposal of end-of-life electronics items in an environment-friendly manner. As part of the efforts, large number of young people will be offered training in specialized e-waste treatment techniques. The project aims to encourage participation of SMEs and promote reuse of electronic parts.

The MCIT and Swiss Embassy will launch an awareness campaign about the dangers caused by unsafe disposal of electronic and digital waste. It will also focus on the importance of using eco-friendly electronic devices. The Ministries also plan to introduce legislations to formalize the informal e-waste recycling sector in the country.
