ECS Refining's Stockton Assets Listed for Sale

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Sales and auction company Tiger Group has listed assets of ECS Refining’s South Sinclair Avenue, Stockton, California facility for sale. The e-scrap major has shut the facility in June 20018, following a bankruptcy filing in April 2018. An online auction is scheduled to take place on June 9th.

According to the notification, the assets put up for sale include electronic waste shredding/separation line, CRT monitor and projection TV separation and recycling line, wood pallet shredding/chipping line and other equipment such as forklifts, electric walk/ride low lift pallet trucks and other material handling equipment, office furniture and equipment. The 262,000-square-foot facility located on a 37-acre industrial lot has also been listed for sale.

Sinclair Partners, which own the facility and equipment, had recently arranged for cleanup of the equipment by an environmental services company, as required by the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC). Earlier DTSC had expressed concerns over the possibility of hazardous metal dust on equipment at the facility.

John Coelho, Senior Director at Tiger Group noted that the sale would be the final ECS Refining offering. The Stockton plant was ECS’s most significant operation that served some of the biggest corporate clients in the country, he reminded.
