Rick Lewis, CEO and President noted that the Transpere team is excited to bring IMS on board as the addition of California and Ohio locations are likely to significantly boost its nationwide market share. The acquisition will help Transpere to better serve its existing and new clients. Further, it provides immense opportunities to generate new relationships. Lewis said that the company will roll out a new software platform at all three sites in roughly six months, in order to track commodities from end-of-life device until final disposition. The new technology will lead the industry, Lewis added.
Meantime, CP Group, IMS’s parent company, noted that the exit from e-scrap processing sector will help the company to focus more energy and time on its core business.
Along with the acquired facilities, Transpere now has three locations, providing employment to nearly 150 people. The combined facilities offer a total processing capacity of approximately 50 million pounds per year. The company will provide both recycling and IT asset disposition services at its facilities. Further, the ac1quisition will not bring any operational change to either of the IMS sites. Also, the R2 certifications of these facilities will be retained under Transpere’s ownership.
